The decisions you keep putting off. Made.

Data Therapy is a regular 45-minute session that helps a leader — or a whole leadership team — decide with a method: clear the backlog, agree the numbers, and follow through. Personal or group, online or in London. The first session is free.

Executive summary

Nobody teaches people how to make decisions. Not at school, not at university, not in most companies. There is no process for it — so decisions pile up, get postponed, or get made on gut feel and never checked.

Data Therapy fixes that, one session at a time.

In personal Data Therapy we work with one leader — usually a CEO or a founder — on the decisions in front of them: which ones matter, what each one rests on, whether the data is there, what was decided last time and whether it actually happened. It works like having a chief operating officer at your side — or standing in for one, if you don't have one yet.

In group Data Therapy we work with a leadership team to agree how you make decisions together: which metrics you use, how exactly each one is calculated, what it's called, and who owns it. So everyone in the room means the same thing by “margin”.

Sessions last 45 minutes. Weekly for the first month, then less often once the process runs. Everything we agree goes into your decision ledger, so nothing gets lost between sessions.

When this fits

This is for you if:

  • You have a backlog of decisions that keep sliding to next week.
  • Operations eat your day, and the big calls never get the time they need.
  • Your teams calculate the same metric in different ways — and every meeting starts with whose number is right.
  • You have plenty of dashboards, but they don't add up to a decision.
  • You've grown past the point where everything can live in your head.
  • Your leadership team needs to agree on goals, metrics and ownership before you invest in more tools.

This is probably not for you if:

  • You're about to retire. Congratulations — it's your successor's turn.

The first session (free) — your Decision Age

45 minutes, online or in London. Bring your last ten significant decisions — any size. For each one, three questions:

  1. Was it made within a week of the signal?
  2. Can you show, in writing, why you decided and what came of it?
  3. Did you choose the date — or did circumstances?

From the answers we calculate your Decision Age: one number and three sub-scores — speed, memory, size — that show how your decision-making compares with a company of your size. We also count, by hand, the decisions currently waiting without a date.

Then we show what good looks like: examples of how well-run companies set up goals, metrics and decision processes.

You leave with one page: your Decision Age, your queue of undecided decisions, and what the next step would be. No obligation to continue.

How it works

  1. 1
First session — free. Your Decision Age, your queue of undecided decisions, examples of what good looks like.
  2. 2
Weekly sessions — first month. 45 minutes every week. We look at the decisions you need to make, prioritise them, check what each one rests on, and make them.
  3. 3
Follow-through. Every session also reviews what was decided before: is it happening, is it working, what has changed.
  4. 4
Data where it's missing. If a decision needs data you don't have, we say so and work out how to get it — sometimes that becomes a small piece of work on its own.
  5. 5
Monthly — once it runs. When the process works and decisions are being made, sessions move to once a month to keep it on track.

What you get

  • A decision ledger. We keep your context in a simple system: what matters to you, which decisions are waiting, which have been made, and how each one is going.
  • A cleared backlog. The decisions that have been stuck for weeks, prioritised and made.
  • A process that doesn't let decisions slide. A rhythm and a structure that make postponing harder than deciding.
  • Agreed metrics. For group sessions: one list of metrics, one definition for each, one owner.
  • A view of your data. Whether you have what you need to decide well — and what's missing.

What we usually find

A backlog of decisions.

Almost always. Dozens of decisions that are hard to make now, but have to be made to move on. We clear it, one by one.

No process for deciding.

Nothing that commits a leader to a decision by a date — so the hard ones wait.

The same metric, counted differently.

Different teams, different dashboards, different formulas for the same number. Until that's fixed, every discussion is about the data instead of the decision.

Examples

A CEO stuck in operations.

The CEO of an e-commerce company came to us buried in day-to-day operations, with decisions stuck for weeks. Over three months of personal sessions we cleared the backlog and built a decision-making process around his business. Then we automated it — so the process now runs with far less of his time.

A construction company with too many metrics.

A large construction company had more metrics than anyone could use, and different teams counted them differently. In group sessions we brought a best-practice metric set for their business, they confirmed which ones matter, and we helped the leadership team agree on definitions, check the numbers and own them.

Formats

  • Personal — one leader, 45-minute sessions, weekly in the first month, then monthly.
  • Group — a leadership team, facilitated 45-minute sessions on metrics and decision rules.
  • Online or in person — sessions run online or face to face in London.

After the first free session we agree the format and cadence that fit. Pricing on request.

FAQ

Is the first session really free?

Yes. 45 minutes, no obligation.

Do we need clean data before we start?

No. Part of the work is checking whether the data you have is enough for the decisions you need to make.

How is this different from a coach or a consultant?

A coach works on you; a consultant writes a report. Data Therapy works on your decisions: which ones, on what basis, and whether they actually happened — every week.

What happens between sessions?

Your decisions and context live in your decision ledger. Between sessions you act on what was decided; next time we check how it went.

Is it confidential?

Yes. We're happy to sign an NDA before the first session.

Does it lead to building something?

Sometimes. If a decision needs data or a tool you don't have, we'll say so — and we can build it. But Data Therapy stands on its own.

Bring the decision you've been putting off.
